Why Fast Response Matters
Mold development begins on wet materials within 24–48 hours. Once mold appears, the project scope expands to include IICRC S520 containment, HEPA filtration and source removal — typically pushing costs 2–4× higher than a same-day extraction.
Material salvage drops dramatically after 48 hours. Engineered flooring, hardwood, drywall, baseboards and carpet padding that can be saved within 24 hours often have to be demolished after 48–72 hours of saturation.
