Insurance Overview
Mold coverage in most U.S. homeowners policies is limited unless a Mold Remediation Endorsement is in force. When mold develops as a direct, immediate result of a covered water-damage event (a burst pipe, for example), some carriers will cover remediation up to the endorsement limit. Mold from gradual leakage or humidity is generally not covered.
