24/7 Water Damage Restoration Services
A-Star Restoration connects homeowners with emergency water damage restoration professionals for burst pipes, flooding, appliance leaks, storm damage, structural drying and complete water damage recovery.
What We Do
Water damage restoration is the IICRC S500-standard process of returning a home to its pre-loss condition after a water-intrusion event. The work includes water extraction, structural drying, antimicrobial treatment, controlled demolition and complete reconstruction.
Most water damage emergencies require same-day dispatch. The first 24 hours are decisive: extraction within hours usually prevents mold development, preserves flooring and drywall, and dramatically reduces total project cost.
Types of Water Damage We Handle
Ten common water-damage scenarios — each with its own restoration workflow and insurance considerations.
Burst Pipes
Sudden supply-line failures from freeze events, copper, PEX, CPVC and galvanized pipe ruptures.
Flood Damage
Surface flooding, storm surge intrusion and sustained-rain water events affecting structural elements.
Storm Damage
Wind-driven rain intrusion, hail-compromised roofs, hurricane bands and tornado-spawned water damage.
Appliance Leaks
Washing machine hoses, ice-maker lines, dishwasher supplies and refrigerator water-line ruptures.
Water Heater Failures
40–50 gallon tank ruptures, T&P valve failures, anode-rod corrosion and supply-line breaks.
Roof Leaks
Storm-driven roof leaks, compromised flashing, skylight intrusion and ice-dam water entry.
Ceiling Leaks
Upper-floor leaks dropping through finished ceilings — supply lines, HVAC condensate, second-floor bathrooms.
Basement Flooding
Sump-pump failures, foundation water intrusion, slab-leak under-floor saturation and below-grade events.
Overflowing Toilets
Wax-ring failures, supply-line leaks, drain backups and toilet overflow with possible sewage.
Sewage Water Damage
Category 3 black-water events — main-line backups, sewage backflow and contaminated water intrusion.
Our Water Damage Restoration Process
IICRC S500 standard at each phase — from emergency dispatch to a fully restored home.
Inspection
IICRC-certified contractor inspects the affected area, takes moisture readings, photographs the loss and writes a scope of work.
Water Extraction
Truck-mount or portable extraction removes standing water — same day, before drying equipment goes in.
Structural Drying
Air movers + LGR dehumidifiers running for 3–5 days. Daily moisture readings logged for the insurance file.
Monitoring
Moisture content tracked daily until materials reach target dry standard. Drying continues until met.
Cleaning & Antimicrobial
Affected surfaces cleaned and treated. Cat 2/3 losses get full antimicrobial protocol and contained disposal.
Repairs & Reconstruction
Drywall, flooring, paint, trim — most insured projects move into reconstruction inside 2 weeks of the loss.
Why Fast Response Matters
Mold development begins on wet materials within 24–48 hours. Once mold appears, the project scope expands to include IICRC S520 containment, HEPA filtration and source removal — typically pushing costs 2–4× higher than a same-day extraction.
Material salvage drops dramatically after 48 hours. Engineered flooring, hardwood, drywall, baseboards and carpet padding that can be saved within 24 hours often have to be demolished after 48–72 hours of saturation.
Insurance coverage is conditional on prompt mitigation. Virtually every homeowners policy requires the homeowner to take reasonable measures to prevent further damage. Same-day documented extraction protects the claim.
Insurance Overview
Most homeowners insurance policies cover sudden and accidental water damage — burst pipes, appliance failures, supply-line breaks and pipe damage caused by freeze events. Coverage typically excludes gradual leaks, lack of maintenance, surface flooding (which requires a separate NFIP policy) and sewage backup (which requires a Water/Sewer Backup endorsement).
Contractors in the A-Star Restoration network produce the loss documentation insurance carriers expect: moisture/photo logs, equipment runtime logs, antimicrobial application records and Xactimate-compatible scopes of work.
Typical Water Damage Restoration Costs
Most insured water damage restoration projects settle between $4,000 and $12,000.
Minor
$1,000–$4,000 · Cat 1 water · single-room · same-day extraction · 3-day dry.
Moderate
$4,000–$12,000 · Multi-room · partial demolition · 4–5 day dry · antimicrobial treatment.
Major
$12,000–$30,000+ · Cat 2/3 · full demolition · structural drying + reconstruction.

Coming SoonWater Damage Restoration — Frequently Asked Questions
- What is water damage restoration?
- Water damage restoration is the IICRC S500 process of returning a property to pre-loss condition after water intrusion. It includes water extraction, structural drying, antimicrobial treatment, controlled demolition and reconstruction.
- How fast does water damage need to be addressed?
- Within 24 hours. Mold can begin developing on wet materials within 24–48 hours, and absorbed water progressively destroys floors, drywall, baseboards and contents.
- What are the categories of water damage (Cat 1 / 2 / 3)?
- IICRC S500 categories: Cat 1 — clean water; Cat 2 — significantly contaminated grey water; Cat 3 — grossly contaminated black water. Each category requires a different workflow, PPE level and disposal protocol.
- How long does drying take?
- Typical structural drying takes 3–5 days with industrial air movers and LGR dehumidifiers, depending on severity and ambient humidity.
- Will homeowners insurance cover water damage?
- Most policies cover sudden and accidental water damage. Coverage typically excludes gradual leaks, maintenance issues and surface flooding (NFIP required).
